We can do body repairs whilst your alloys are refurbished

Take care of your car bodywork

Driving to work and back, day in and day, alongside all those other trips can take its toll on your car.

While we’re often aware of the depreciation value of cars, it doesn’t mean your car needs to look like it’s a few years old. While the thought of leaving your car to get any bumps or scrapes repaired may sound daunting, with SMART repairs, it doesn’t have to be.

What are smart repairs?

While you may think you know what a car repair is, the world of SMART repairs is a little different. Firstly, SMART stands for ‘Small to Medium Area Repair Technology’ and it’s when specialised tools, paint and materials are used to repair the damage of a localised area of a car, without having to repaint the whole panel.

Before the introduction of SMART technology, when it came to repairing your car, it would need to go into a repair shop and often stay there for a few days, even if the damage was seemingly minor. However, these repairs can now take just a few hours to fix, which helps to reduce the cost and won’t leave you with the inconvenience of having no car.

What damage does it deal with?

One of the best elements of SMART repair is it can be used on several different forms of car damage.

As you know, your car can experience several minor damages across the course of its life. From bumps to the odd scuff and scratch on the bodywork to similar damage on your alloy wheels, SMART repairs can help with all of this and are suitable for:

  • Dent repair
  • Alloy wheel repair
  • Alloy wheel refurbishment
  • Scratch repair
  • Bumper repair
  • Exterior trim repair

So, if you do experience some minor damage, you know you’ll be able to get it repaired quickly and easily. You’ll even be able to leave the repair shop with your car.

How does it work?

Like any type of repair, SMART repairs all depend on the type of damage that your car has experienced.

For example, if your car has a slight bump or dent and the paintwork hasn’t been damaged you’ll have the option of paintless dent removal. This is where someone gradually and gently removes the dent without having to use paint or filler.

However, with scuffs, scratches and some dents, there could be a call for paint repair on top of the dent removal. When this happens, a SMART repair specialist will colour match your car, therefore, only the mark on the damage will need to be painted and not the rest of the car, which would prove expensive.

When it comes to alloy wheel repair, the process is slightly different from the repair of bumps and scuffs. Alloy wheel repair and refurbishment includes:

Paint repairs to the wheels

  • Repairs to minor issues detected on alloy wheel spokes
  • Cosmetic repairs

However, repairs and refurbishment doesn’t include:

  • Repair to structural damage
  • Repair to an alloy wheel that’s buckled or become distorted

So, if you’ve been driving around and wincing every time you catch the sight of those marks on your wheels and bodywork, why not come and get it fixed?
