Our innovative growth
Established in 2016 by Jamie Baxter and Phil Barnard, DA Techs was created to develop efficient and cost-effective premium vehicle repair services; underpinned by a real passion for the industry and a desire to improve the standard of vehicle repair services on the market.
Since creating the first-ever Mobile Diamond Cut Alloy Wheel repair service, we've grown into a thriving business, repairing 65,000 wheels each year across 7 locations and from 4 mobile repair vans.
We work with a wide range of customers, including airfields, motor vehicle auctions, franchised and independent motor dealers, car supermarkets, alloy wheel insurance providers, national vehicle rental companies, and private retail customers. Whether it's powder coating or wet paint, we are able to use various methods to carry out your repairs.
April 2016 - March 2017
From the initial concept in April 2016, to the creation of the UK's first mobile diamond-cut van and a team of two technicians.
Oct 2017 - June 2019
By October 2017 we moved into premises in Adlington focussing on powder coasting and static lathe technology. We quickly outgrew the unit due to unprecedented customer demand and developed the first customer-made van entirely to DA Techs' workshop specification.
August 2019 - March 2020
Due to our innovative approach to business development and growth, we were awarded a MADE SMARTER grant, this was closely followed by a research and development project with Sheffield-based AMRC. We invested in technologies to digitise workflow processes specifically for the wheel repair market.
Sept 2019 - March 2020
Having heavily invested funding and research into the business, we created and deployed the UK's first custom made on-site Wheel Pod, designed and developed to offer large volume wheel refurbishment and repair to trade customers across the UK.
A second MADE SMARTER grant helped further develop software solutions to enable the digitisation of Wheel Pods and vans to allow operational efficiency and productivity to be monitored via the cloud irrespective of geographical obstacles.
Oct 2020
In October 2020, we expanded further into even bigger premises at our Adlington HQ, ensuring service, support and access to body repair are still under one roof.
April 2021
In April 2021 we deployed a Wheel Pod and 6 technicians at Wyton de-fleet centre in Cambridgeshire. In May we complemented this with two other Wheel Pod locations in Cheshire and Trafford Park.
Feb 2022
We visit Lenco Holdings in Florida to discuss the supply of the Lenco M200 machine in the UK & Europe, sign a supply deal, and start significant joint development.
March 2022
We set up a third implant POD at Fords of Winsford’s Trafford Park, Manchester site, complete with a Micro Lenco M200.
March 2023
After months of development, the first prototype for the Micro Lenco arrives from the USA, and we begin testing and developing the van setup.
July 2023
We take on the Bruntingthorpe de-fleet site for Cox Automotive in Leicestershire.
Dec 2023
The first Micro Lenco Diamond Cut Alloy Wheel Van is launched.
Jan 2024
The second Micro Lenco Diamond Cut Alloy Wheel Van is launched.
July 2024
Our 3rd and 4th Micro Lenco Diamond Cut Alloy Wheel Vans hit the road, with a 5th planned for September.
With the Micro Lenco lathe, we have equipment that can handle mobile cutting with tyres on, for wheels large or small, with a flexibility and finish quality unmatched by other mobile lathes on the market. We now have all the ingredients in place to fulfil our plans and franchise our Mobile Diamond Cut Van service, backed by huge experience in wheel repair, systems, processes and the best equipment setup on the market
